Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Will Let You Damage The Millennium Falcon In An Amazing Way

One of the first things we learned about Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge's Millennium Falcon attraction was that it would be possible to bring the iconic ship back in great shape, and it would also be possible to bring the ship back severely damaged, depending on how you and your flight crew performed your duties. However, beyond a few passing comments, we had little idea exactly what that meant. Today at Star Wars Celebration we learned a little more about what can happen after your flight in the Falcon is finished, and how you'll be able to see just how good, or bad, a job you did.

Asa Kalama is the executive creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering and is in charge of Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, and he revealed that the experience of flying the Falcon doesn't end when you leave the cockpit. Instead, as you exit down the Falcon's main hallway, that we've seen countless times before in the movies, that hallway will actually look different depending on what happened on your trip. According to Kalama...

One of the amazing things about this experience is actually, even when its over the story continues. So as you make your way out of the cockpit at the end of your amazing smuggling adventure, even that iconic hallway that you make your way through., its going to look different depending on how you fly. If youve had a beautiful, clean run, that hallways going to be in pristine condition. If youve banged into every possible thing there was to bang into and taken a volley of laser blasts, lights are going to be broken, were going to hear sparks flying, were going to hear comm chatter about the incredible damage that you managed to cause to the ship.

The idea that the results of your Smuggler's Run experience would continue after the attraction ended had been part of the description of the attraction since early on, but what we heard about most was that you might run into somebody at Oga's Cantina who could respond to you in a particular way based on your experience, but this is the first we've heard that the Falcon itself would show the results of your ride.

Star Wars Celebration did show off the hallway in question in good condition, we didn't get a chance to see how it will be different if you do a bad job..

Everything else we know about how your Smuggler's Run experience will impact the rest of your time on Batuu involves the idea that cast members or animatronics might react to you differently based on how well you did on the ride. We also got to see more of the Hondo Okana animatronic that will be part of the attraction. Asa Kalama spoke about how Okana himself will react to you if you beat up his ship too much.

Its important that you do what you can to bring the ship back in good working order. Hondo Onaka, hes a phenomenal boss, but he doesnt take too kindly to those bringing his ship back in rough shape.

The more we hear about Stars Wars: Galaxy's Edge, the more exciting it becomes. We'll finally get a chance to experience it all when the new land comes to Disneyland May 31 and Walt Disney World August 29.

It Looks Like Shazam's Suit Will Be Different Than We Thought

There is an expression said among filmmakers that usually incites a somewhat frightening reaction: "We'll fix it in post!" While we've already seen Zachary Levi in the Shazam! suit, there's been some work done on the look of it that's yet to be seen. Personal trainer for DC/Warner Bros, Giacomo Farci, recently revealed the final suit will debut in the second trailer for Shazam! via an Instagram comment. Take a look:

With another look at magnificent Shazam's suit in this tweet from DC Film Chambers, there's not too much too complain about. It's unmistakably Shazam's brightly-colored suit and emblem. However, the cast and crew have been open about the evolution of the suit over the course of production, and apparently, all the tweaks aren't finished yet.

After months of anticipation for the first look of Shazam!, it came just in time for the release of the first trailer during San Diego Comic-Con over the summer. As the film's director David F. Sandberg previously explained, when the first image was released, it didn't have any post-production done on it yet, so he decided to release the trailer without adding in all the changes in either. Fans did notice some slight alterations to the suit from the first look to the trailer, but it looks like there's still more to come.

As David F. Sandberg explained last month to fans on Reddit, he decided to change the fabric of Shazam's suit late in prep, so there wasn't any time to do proper tests on the suit. As a result, when the initial production was finished, the suit didn't look exactly as he wanted it to in some lights, particularly in scenes shot during the day. The suit still needs some final touches, including a finished bolt effect, which Sandberg said won't be extreme, but isn't the simple glow we've seen Zachary Levi in already.

Just how different Shazam's suit will be from what we've seen might not be as major as one would expect, considering all the details that a director might take into consideration that we might not notice. Per Giacomo Farci's comments, the suit "has been improved a lot," so we could be gazing on something obviously different than what we've seen too.

However, simply fixing a mistake in post-production doesn't always fare well for the finished product. Past DCEU entries have been criticized for including CGI effects not up to par with MCU films, most recently in Justice League. Since Superman star Henry Cavill was also filming Mission: Impossible Fallout, where he proudly showed off a mustache, Justice League erased the actor's facial hair in post to match the iconic clean-faced hero, leading to some wonky shots of Cavill.

Suit aside, Shazam!, which comes to theaters on April 5, 2019, looks like a fun and exciting addition to the DCEU.







The long-range tracking had Shazam! headed to an opening weekend of about $48 million, but it looks like the latest DCEU superhero film might make a little bit less money than we thought.

I dont think these guys put on that much muscle but Shazam's suit looks pillowy and soft unlike the Batman and Superman suits that seem to use harder padding. Superman Star Margot Kidders Death Ruled As Apparent Suicide

While plenty of kids grow up wanting to be movie stars, the reality of the job can sometimes be a double edged sword. There's a ton of pressure associated with working in show business, and the ebbs and flows of the industry can weigh heavily on an actor's psyche. Plenty of celebs have taken their own life, a grave warning about mental health issues and the price of fame. When Superman actress Margot Kidder passed away in May of this year, many wondered about the mysterious circumstances around her passing, especially with the actress' public struggle with bipolar disorder. Now details about Kidder's death have been revealed, the cause being ruled as suicide.

When Margot Kidder passed away months ago, things were kept purposefully ambiguous regarding the cause. Her manager claimed she died in her sleep at home, but there were no medical reasons released to the general public. Now the report has come out, via USA Today, revealing it was a purposeful combination of drugs and liquor that resulted in Kidder's fatal overdose. She was 69 years old when he passed on May 13.

The cause of Margot Kidder's death is sure to be shock for her generations of fans who have followed Kidder's career-- notably her tenure as Lois Lane in the Superman franchise. She ultimately appeared in four blockbusters as the Daily Planet reporter, cementing her in pop culture forever. Given that her co-star Christopher Reeves also passed away in 2004 due to complication from sepsis treatment, the Superman movies now carry added emotional weight.

Aside from her onscreen performances, Margot Kidder is also known for shedding a light on mental health issues, specifically bipolar disorder. She had a widely publicized manic episode in the 90's, and Kidder ended up going public about her struggles with mental health. The manic incident in 1996 lasted for days, and reportedly resulted in the actress being assaulted in the process. But after seeking treatment, Kidder maintained she had found stability and was free from manic episodes as a result of her disorder.

Margot Kidder's death is the latest in a string of high profile suicides that have dominated the news cycle in the past year. The most recent example is fashion icon Kate Spade, who took her life just a few months ago. Additionally, Swedish DJ Avicii also took his own life this past April. These three stars are from very different fields and backgrounds, but their harrowing deaths prove that success and fame is truly not enough to make someone happy-- especially when mental health issues are involved.

While Margot Kidder may have left this world in desperate and and dark circumstances, her legacy as an actress will live on forever. With Amy Adams taking on the role of Lois Lane in the DCEU, plenty of comparisons have already been made. And with Kidder no longer with us, that conversation will likely pick back up in the future.
