Watch Ron Howard Narrate Star Wars Arrested Development-Style

Now the story of a family who lost everything and the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together. No, it's not Arrested Development, it's actually Star Wars: A New Hope, but a new video has just debuted online featuring Ron Howard narrating the original Star Wars film in the style of the beloved sitcom, and it's absolutely perfect. Check it out, below.

What a fun, sexy time we had watching that video! Framing George Lucas' 1977 sci-fi/fantasy classic through the Arrested Development lens, we watch as Ron Howard (the narrator of the legendary series AND the director of Solo: A Star Wars Story) chronicles the story of the Skywalker family. Running through the sheer number of logical inconsistencies, misunderstandings and outright lies told by the characters, it becomes reasonably clear just how much the Skywalker family saga from the Original Trilogy actually works within the framework of the Arrested Development format.

In all honesty, it's actually somewhat striking to see just how well Star Wars fits with Arrested Development. The bizarre (and eventually incestuous) romance between Luke and Leia mirrors that of George Michael and Maeby. THe mysterious presence of Boba Fett in Mos Eisley makes for a perfect inclusion of "Mr. F." Who knows? Maybe next we will learn that stormtroopers didn't even burn down Uncle Owen's homestead. Perhaps it was T-Bone acting under the orders of George Sr.

And, of course, in genuine Arrested Development fashion, Howard is there to play omniscient narrator and directly contradict the remarks of fan-favorite characters. Han Solo claimed to know what he was doing? He didn't. Darth Vader had Luke Skywalker in his sights? He didn't.

One other thing worth noting about this Star Wars video is the fact that Ron Howard specifically acknowledges Han Solo's reference of the Kessel Run as a good idea for a movie. Fans have speculated for quite some time that the legendary adventure would appear in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and while this is clearly just a joke, Howard's direct reference of it seems only to add fuel to the speculation fire.

Weirdly enough, this is only the latest blockbuster franchise to get the Arrested Development treatment within the last week. Joe and Anthony Russo both cut their teeth on some of the most iconic episodes of Arrested Development, and they even included a blue, Never Nude Tobias Funke in the background of a scene in Avengers: Infinity War. This doesn't necessarily tie back to Star Wars in any meaningful way, but it clearly shows how pervasive Arrested Development has become in the greater pop culture landscape over the years.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will debut in theaters later this month on May 25, and the main Star Wars saga will continue next year when Episode IX debuts on December 20, 2019.

Bradley Coopers Trainer Never Thought He Could Gain The Weight For American Sniper

Bradley Cooper has been in the news a lot lately for learning to sing and speak differently for A Star is Born. However, it was the work he had to put in for another drama, American Sniper, that actually shocked his celebrity trainer Jason Walsh. Walsh revealed in a recent interview that he never believed the actor would be able to physically personify Chris Kyle in American Sniper. He said:

For Bradley, it's all in. He wants to become that character. Chris Kyle, 225 pounds, military guy, highly respected and decorated. Bradley Cooper, 185 pounds wet, novice, never trained like this before. Not like this, not the kind of weight training we were gonna have to do. I'm going to be honest with you: This was the one that I was most worried about in my career. Because I didn't know if we could achieve what he wanted to achieve.

However, even though Jason Walsh never really believed that Bradley Cooper could get buff enough to capably play Chris Kyle, he told Vanity Fair that the two men got to work right away. Jason Walsh decided that a trap bar deadlift would be the lift they really honed in on along with to get him to a point where he could lift from the ground. Per Walsh:

We had almost 12 weeks total. I think it was the first eight weeks that we were doing two-a-days. I mean we had a lot. I thought, maybe 20, 25 pounds was doable in that time frame we had. Forty pounds heavier is a big deal. We had to get him moving, we had to get the weights going.

Ultimately, Bradley Cooper has shown a propensity to exceed expectations in all kinds of different movie roles. If you've seen American Sniper, you should know that Bradley Cooper got to the point where he was able to do the trap bar lift with 425 pounds, but it took a slew of 60-90 minute two-a-day workouts where he put his body through the ringer to get there.

Most of the time, Jason Walsh says the studios come to him about training someone for a movie. They have to figure out a lot of weird stuff. An example he gives is when Emily Blunt had to wear that huge exoskeleton for Edge of Tomorrow and they had to figure out workouts to help with the weight she would be carrying while filming.

For Bradley Cooper, it was less about needing to be mobile and more about needing to look like Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and sniper who wrote the book American Sniper is based on. Chris Kyle was a large guy, bulky, who was later killed taking a vet who suffered from PTSD and schizophrenia to a shooting range.

When American Sniper came out in 2015, it was a big hit and the movie even earned awards nods, including a nomination for both Best Picture and for Bradley Cooper as Best Actor at the Oscars. Cooper also one a Critics Choice Award and an MTV Movie Award for the gig.

So, it looks as if hard work paid off in that case. We'll have to wait and see if all the vocal work Bradley Cooper did ends up panning out for A Star is Born, as well.

As Maleficent 2 Wraps Filming, Director Shares Photos From The Set

The current trend of successful Disney live-action remakes began with Maleficent and now the sequel is closer to a reality than ever before. Joachim Rnning, the director of the forthcoming sequel, recently announced that principal photography has wrapped on Maleficent 2 with a glorious picture of everybody who helped make the movie a reality. Check it out.

The crew are always the unsung heroes on any movie production as few of them ever get recognized unless they get nominated for awards. This shows just how many people were involved in making this film a reality and it's nice of Joachim Rnning to give them a moment in the sun and thank them for their hard work.

Now, Maleficient 2 will be handed off to another group of people who likely aren't even in this photo, the post-production team who handle things like digital effects, and the editing of all the shot footage into a coherent story. Exactly what that story is, is a little vague at this point. The official plot synopsis simply states that Maleficent and Aurora will find themselves working together in an attempt to protect the magical creatures that live inside the moors. We do not who they need protection from, as Ed Skrein has reportedly been cast as the villain, though exactly who his character is still being kept under wraps.

The cast image follows on another picture that Joachim Rnning posted to Instagram a few days ago. He knew the end was in sight, which was too bad because it looks like the place he got to work in Pinewood Studios in London was pretty damn impressive. A look at his monitors is carefully designed to hide anything interesting behind clapperboards, though it does reveal an apparent logo for Maleficent 2, an image which appears to be the wings that Angelina Jolie's character lost in the first film.

While Disney had turned other animated classics into live-action films before, it was really the success of Maleficent that launched the studio's trend that has since resulted in new versions of The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, and most recently, Christopher Robin. New versions of Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King are planned for next year before Maleficent 2 arrives in May of 2020.
