How Avengers: Infinity Wars Anthony Mackie Reacted When Reading The Final Fight

We're all expecting the final battle in Avengers: Infinity War to be a massive spectacle of epic proportions. We're waiting to be wowed. When Anthony Mackie got a first look at the script for the final battle, he had a very different reaction. Mackie recently revealed that when he first received the script for Avengers: Infinity War, all he got was the final fight sequence, which left him very confused because he didn't realize it was only the end of the script he was looking at. According to Mackie...

I got 25 pages, which was the final fight sequence. And I sent a long email, like, 'this movie is going to be awful, how does this work, there's no story, this is gonna be the longest fight sequence ever.'

It's hard to tell how much of what Anthony Mackie says to Good Morning America is a joke and how much is him being serious, but since fight sequences have little dialog, it's difficult to tell just from descriptions of action in the script how much screen time any given fight is expected to take. It is possible that Mackie thought he was looking at a significantly larger portion of the total script than he actually was. He perhaps knew he didn't have the entire script, that was the case with most of the cast, who only got the parts of the script they absolutely needed to get, but Mackie revealed he was told the rest of the script was 250 pages long, meaning that 25 page fight scene, while still massive, was still a small fraction of the whole. With a reported runtime of over two and a half hours, it sounds like the vast majority of that script made it into the final cut of the move.

Jumanji 3 Raises The Stakes For A More 'Risky' Adventure, Kevin Hart Says

In the world of Jumanji, one thing is certain: when you play the game, chaos and pandemonium will ensue. 2017s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle saw the classic board game from the 1995 original being turned into a video game, with four teenagers being drawn in and turned into game avatars. That formula will be repeated for Jumanji 3 later this year, but returning star Kevin Hart says the threequel will raise the stakes even higher, resulting in a riskier adventure for the protagonists. In his words:

Back in the world of Jumanji, but the beautiful thing about the way we set it is through the video game atmosphere. In this particular case, we go back into the game and were in a new level. And the way we got back into the game is the way we didnt want to get back into the game. The same people are there. Our same band is back together with this adventure on a much more risky adventure. The stakes have been elevated and raised. For a fan base, you want to give them the same family action adventure they fell in love with. So we just wanted to make sure we delivered. Jake Kasdan, our director and writer, he does just that.

As Kevin Hart alluded to, a good sequel retains the elements that made its predecessor(s) popular, while also giving audiences plenty of new material to chew on. We already knew Jumanji 3 would be delving back into the video game world, and while Hart cant divulge any specific plot details just yet, evidently what the teenagers went through in Welcome to the Jungle will pale in comparison to whats in store for them this time around.

Kevin Harts comment about a new level to Collider is particularly interesting, as it means that the main characters wont have to deal with the same challenges they faced last time. Still, with rampaging animals, mercenaries on their tail and an assortment of other obstacles and problems, its not like the events of Welcome to the Jungle were a cakewalk. Fingers crossed we get a Jumanji 3 trailer soon so that we can learn what dangers lurk around the corner.

One thing that isnt changing in Jumanji 3 is the avatars within the video game, as along with Kevin Hart reprising Moose Finbar, Dwayne Johnsons Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Jack Blacks Professor Shelly Oberon, Karen Gillans Ruby Roundhouse and even Nick Jonas Seaplane McDonough will all be back, as will Rhys Darbys Nigel Billingsley, the NPC who guided them in Welcome to the Jungle. As mentioned earlier, the same teenagers will also be playing the game again: Alex Wolffs Spencer Gilpin, Madison Isemans Bethany Waler, SerDarius Blains Fridge Johnson and Morgan Turners Martha Haply.

As for new faces, Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Dania Ramirez have all joined Jumanji 3s cast, although their characters havent been identified yet. Filming on the threequel began in January in both Atlanta, Georgia and Hawaii, and is expected to finish at the end of the month.

Welcome to the Jungle was definitely one of the surprise cinematic successes of 2017, receiving many positive reviews taking in over $962 million worldwide during its theatrical run. Well have to wait and see if Jumanji 3 comes close to reaching that same level of critical and commercial reception, but going off of Kevin Harts comments, director and writer Jake Kasdan has done his best to deliver a fresh story that will ideally put a lot of butts in seats again.

The John Gotti biopic has been in development since the start of the decade, and while the original plan was for it to come out on December 15 of last year (the same day that Star Wars: The Last Jedi dropped), Lionsgate not only postponed its release 10 days before that date, the studio also sold it back to the producers. Now being distributed by Vertical Entertainment, Gotti is heading to theaters in June, and now a new trailer has been released showing off even more of John Travolta's intriguing performance as the man who became the head of the Gambino crime family.

John Gotti is one of the most notorious crime figures from the latter half of the 20th century, so it stood to reason that we'd eventually get a movie chronicling his rise to power. and Gotti is that end result. As this new trailer shows, Gotti will follow the eponymous criminal from his young years working for the Gambino crime family to becoming a capo for the organization to seizing control of the entire racket. Under his leadership, the Gambino crime family became one of the most powerful criminal organizations in New York City's history, and unlike his associates, Gotti didn't shy away from the spotlight. However, as this trailer shows, not only will John Travolta's Gotti have to deal with the authorities trying to toss him from his throne, he must also contend with his son John Jr. (Spencer Lofranco) joining this life of crime, something he originally promised his wife Victoria (Kelly Preston) wouldn't happen.

While John Travolta has kept a steady film presence in recent years, he turned heads back in 2016 for his performance as Robert Shapiro FX's in The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, for which he earned an Emmy nomination. Travolta's turn as John Gotti looks like it could potentially be that same kind of award caliber performance, presenting the man as charismatic, yet someone who should definitely be feared. But even if Gotti doesn't get that kind of recognition, the movie looks like it could be another solid entry in the crime genre. So if you're looking for something different from the traditional blockbuster releases during the summer season, Gotti might be worth checking out.

Originally Gotti was only supposed to get a limited release and be available on VOD, but once Lionsgate dropped the movie, it was changed to a wide release.
